Due to a growth in service, we have an exciting opportunity for a strong and self-motivated Theatre Nurse or ODP to join our AfPP accredited perioperative team as a Theatre Practitioner.
You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, working to ensure we are providing a high standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.
This role is ideally suited to a registered practitioner (Nurse or ODP) with proven experience working in recovery, scrub and or anaesthetic and who is patient oriented with a focus on continuous service improvement.
Your working hours will be 4 days per week working between Monday and Saturday 07:45 – 17:45, working 1 Saturday per month.
Role Responsibilities
* Work as a scrub, anaesthetic and/or recovery practitioner (once full training is given if required).
* Assess and implement patient care requirements and evaluate outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care.
* Ensure that patients’ comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
* Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework.
Person Specification
* Be a qualified and registered Practitioner (RN or ODP)
* Experience working as an Anaesthetic and/or Scrub theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent).
* Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application.
* Experience of planning, organising and running the daily work load in a theatre suite, including the supervision of staff.
