The newly formed Strategy & Transformation team are pivotal to business partnering of internal and external stakeholders to articulate strategy, as well as building and prioritising the plans to deliver the strategy and achieve our strategic business goals. The Corporate Development Manager is a newly created role that will focus on the external market and continuing to review and adjust the AGS strategy where necessary, providing managerial level support and insights to the Corporate Development Director. The role holder will work with senior internal stakeholders to ensure that an ongoing assessment exists of markets and their opportunities, as well as their impact on the programme for Corporate development, in addition to providing value add insights. The role will also have responsibility for developing new revenue streams, from the inception of ideas through building business case. The potential for being directly involved in M&A activity exists. Principle accountabilities STRATEGIC ANALYSIS Ongoing strategic analysis of the business from an internal, external and industry perspective. Perform comprehensive and accurate benchmarking against industry competitors through publicly available data. Support and inform data led decision making. Identify important trends and ensure that the business is appraised, ensuring that relevant action can be taken where required. STRATEGY & STRATEGIC ROADMAP Develop strategic roadmap with clear prioritisation and linkage between strategic initiatives by working closely with the Transformation Office. The role will be required to present and gain endorsement through project and stakeholder governance forum and regular (minimum monthly) progress reviews. Drive the strategic roadmap and work closely with initiatives owners to ensure milestones are being achieved on time, or corrective action plans are in place. Work in partnership with the Transformation Programme Manager and Finance to understand impact of strategic initiatives and ensure they are captured in budgets, forecasts and long term plans as appropriate. Develop KPIs to measure and monitor progress on key initiatives. Develop and implement processes to manage key stakeholders through the strategy development process, including templates and materials. BUSINESS CASE & PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT Develop financial models to evaluate and quantify the value of strategic initiatives. Support the development of commercial constructs to deliver new revenue streams. Identify and work with external partners to develop partnerships to support the implementation of strategic initiatives. Work with key stakeholders to develop full business cases of strategic initiatives to be brought to the AGS Executive and AGS Board, including financial, non-financial, and strategic context of business cases. Prepare papers and supporting documentation for AGS Executive and Board members. Non-financial aspects / strategic context of business cases. Develop KPIs to track progress of business cases and work with finance to phase and implement reporting. Participate in M&A activity where required. Qualifications and experience The Corporate Development Manager will require: Demonstrable experience in (corporate) strategy development and implementation. Exceptional analytical skills, good attention to detail, ability to work to a high level of accuracy. Commercial acumen and working knowledge of financial concepts. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience at senior levels. Ability to translate complex strategic concepts into easy to understand templates. Flexible attitude, team-player and ability to work to tight deadlines. High level of excel spreadsheet and financial / commercial modelling skills. Clear fit with business culture and values. Framework and boundaries The role is an important contributor to the AGS Group Strategy & Transformation function and is trusted to produce accurate strategic analysis, reporting, and insights and the role holder is a key interface between Corporate Development and all other business units within AGS.
