The College is seeking to appoint a full-time Head of Housekeeping. The Head of Housekeeping has management responsibility for all housekeeping matters, maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and presentation of rooms throughout the College.
This is a crucial role leading the Housekeeping Department, and we are looking for someone with experience in managing a housekeeping department or function with the ability to motivate and develop the housekeeping team.
The primary responsibilities include knowledge and oversight of college accommodation, management of departmental costs to achieve objectives within the departmental budget, and ensuring compliance with all legal instruments that affect the departmental operation.
The ability to work flexibly is essential. The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, but there will be a need to work some additional hours during the week or at weekends, and the post participates in the on-call out-of-hours rota as part of the housekeeping management team.
The successful applicant must be passionate about maintaining the highest standards, with a motivating attitude that inspires others. As well as experience in managing a housekeeping function including strategy, staffing, and budget planning, you will need to be well-organised and have a ‘can-do’ approach to all areas of the role, including a willingness to roll your sleeves up when necessary. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with demonstrable significant staff management experience.
