Project Engineer – Power Electronics for Forseven, a revolutionary company transforming the EV industry through cutting-edge technology and innovative engineering practices. This role will focus on Power Electronics Systems project engineering, specification, and integration of high voltage, electronic components into vehicle architecture.
The role will involve operating in a hybrid capacity out of our offices in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, working alongside visionary minds in the automotive field. Key responsibilities include:
* Performing as in-house expert for Power Electronics Systems, documenting and maintaining a development roadmap focusing on features related to weight, efficiency, performance, and integration with charging infrastructure and associated systems.
* Reviewing and analysing product specifications to identify areas of optimisation and improvement.
* Working with stakeholders to identify solutions, projects, and milestones contributing to the success of the vehicle programme.
* Managing technical deliverables, project plans, and open issues decks for assigned systems to support on-time delivery to the vehicle programme.
* Realising vehicle features using a combination of carry-over, modified, and new components in collaboration with Body, Chassis, and Powertrain function groups as required.
* Ensuring power electronics are correctly located and packaged in accordance with vehicle requirements, compliance with environmental and EMC regulations.
* Specifying and developing design features and functions in conjunction with technical partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
* Participating in system review, verification & validation activities, including leading FMEAs, DVP planning, and ISO26262 compliance.
Requirements:
* Significant experience in HV Electronics or component delivery within an automotive engineering environment.
* Demonstrable understanding of High Voltage Electrical architectures and underlying principles and technologies.
* Experience of project engineering with Tier 1 suppliers, preparation of project documentation and reports.
* Working knowledge of associated systems such as MGUs, Batteries, and Charging Systems.
* Experience of system/component delivery within an APQP, six sigma or similar framework.
* Ability to communicate requirements to a supplier and manage cost/benefit/compromise when adapting and enhancing technologies.
* Possession of a Mechanical, Control Systems, Automotive or similar honours engineering degree.
