M&H Carriers are seeking an IT Support Technician to join our busy team. As an IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to colleagues and clients.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience in Microsoft technologies including Microsoft Azure.
Duties and responsibilities
* 1st line support to diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by end-users. This could include problems with hardware, software, networks or other IT systems.
* Monitoring an internal ticketing system where users can submit requests for assistance. Ensuring all requests are prioritised and responded to in a timely manner, either resolving the issue yourself or escalating to the appropriate team if necessary.
* Assist with the installation, configuration, and deployment of hardware (such as computers, printers, and peripherals) and software applications.
* User training documentation for end-users on how to use various software applications and IT systems effectively.
* Providing remote assistance to users.
* IT asset management including inventory management, tracking hardware and software licences, and ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills. You must be able to effectively communicate technical information in a clear and understandable manner and demonstrate patience and empathy when dealing with users who may be frustrated or unfamiliar with technology.
* Working with Microsoft technologies and collaborating with the M&H team to develop current technologies in use such as SharePoint.
* Learn and understand the technologies currently used by M&H and provide support and guidance on new technologies which would be beneficial to the operations of the company.
* Lead and/or participate in projects or tasks as required by the business, providing expertise as needed (e.g. client onboarding, new systems, due diligence, technological improvements).
* Ensure the necessary external maintenance/support cover is in place for all critical IT hardware and software, and that appropriate SLAs are in place and managed effectively.
* Work with the internal Compliance department and, where necessary, external contractors to support in managing the security of the IT environment, ensuring compliance and maintenance of legislative and contractual certifications.
* Relationship management of external IT suppliers and clients.
* Evaluate areas for improvement and risk mitigation and make recommendations in line with the overall business model and strategy.
* Contribution to and review of IT budgets set by the Head Of Network Services, ensuring they remain on forecast and are focused on creating efficiencies and cost savings.
* Collaborate in internal and external audit projects to ensure continued compliance and accreditation with relevant ISO & Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations and others as required.
