Caremark is looking for a dynamic Director of People & Culture who can provide both strategic vision and hands-on leadership. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive organisational culture, talent development, and employee engagement while fostering an environment of excellence and care across our network of franchised offices around the UK.
Caremark Ltd is a wholly UK-owned and operated home care franchise with an established and successful UK-based network.
As the Director of People & Culture, you will be responsible for leading the overall people strategy for the organisation including employee engagement, talent acquisition, and leadership development. You will partner closely with franchise owners and internal stakeholders to align our HR practices with the company’s mission and values. This role is both strategic and operational, requiring a proactive leader who can enhance our HR function while maintaining an exceptional employee experience. You will have oversight of one headcount currently in Talent Acquisition.
About The Role
Employee Experience and Engagement:
* Lead efforts to enhance employee engagement, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, performance, and retention, using feedback to shape engagement initiatives.
People Operations and Culture:
* Lead the transformation of the People function from a transactional to a strategic service, contributing to the growth of Caremark’s overall business strategy.
* Act as a key advisor to support managers and franchise owners navigate HR issues through guidance instructions and workflows.
* Ensure compliance with employment laws and effective management of employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary matters for Caremark Limited Franchise Support Centre (FSC).
Policy and Compliance Leadership:
* Drive the update of HR policies and procedures to ensure they align with best practices and changing landscapes within Social Care.
* Oversee training programs for franchisees, ensuring they are well-equipped to manage HR functions within their businesses.
* Partner with the Director of Training & Compliance to advise on sensitive employee and carer grievances for Franchisees.
Talent Strategy and Development:
* Shape and implement the company’s talent strategy to attract, develop, and retain top talent across the organisation and franchise network.
* Support in the creation of job descriptions aligned with strategic business needs and ensure successful hiring processes.
* Oversee employee onboarding at Caremark FSC, ensuring new hires are embedded in Caremark’s culture from day one.
* Drive leadership development programs to enhance the capabilities of managers and future leaders across the network.
* Provide network-wide updates regarding changes to the international recruitment requirements and processes within Adult Social Care.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Head of People, HR Director, or senior HR leader in a fast-paced environment, ideally in an advisory capacity.
* Expertise in strategic HR management, including talent strategy, leadership development, and employee engagement.
* Experience with employee relations, policy development, organisational design and guidance.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
* Experience in the franchise industry would be highly beneficial.
