An opportunity has arisen in our small but mighty team of 15 for a talented individual to head up our flagship Women’s Development practice, which offers high-touch, high-impact women’s development programmes and coaching.
About the Role - The 'Managing Consultant - Women’s Development Programmes' will be a senior figure in the Shape Talent Leadership team and will lead the Women’s Development practice, ensuring performance, revenues, profitability, high quality delivery and client and participant satisfaction. You will manage a team of employees and associates, ensuring the performance, development and optimal utilisation of the team on projects. You will work as part of the leadership team to contribute to and execute the firm’s growth strategy and establish the business as an important and leading player in the gender equity consulting space. This role requires consulting experience, leadership development design, sophisticated facilitation skills, and gender equity, diversity, and inclusion (DEI) knowledge. You will need extensive experience with multinational corporates, be adept at handling diverse cultures and scenarios, and be able to command a room and think on your feet. The right candidate is results-driven, passionate about inclusivity and women’s development, and will ensure high-quality programme delivery, including managing their own delivery targets for high-profile workshops and coaching assignments. Most work is delivered remotely, but in-person delivery is increasingly requested in the UK and Europe. You will need to travel to Europe from time to time as well as meet in London once or twice a month. Note: You must be UK-based for payroll tax purposes.
Key responsibilities
* High-quality, profitable programme delivery: Manage the high-quality, profitable delivery of all women’s development programmes, involving a combination of personal delivery and delivery through a small team.
* Custodian of Women’s Development Programme (WDP) products: As ‘product owner’ of all women’s development programme modules and products, ensure the evolution and development of high-quality products that are fit for purpose and competitive.
* Women’s Development practice revenues: Maintain and grow practice revenues through participation in business development activities and delivery of high-quality work to secure revenue renewals.
* Team leadership: Participate as a key member of the leadership team, as well as managing a team of employees and associates, ensuring the performance, development and optimal utilisation of the team on projects, and fostering a collaborative, supportive, and high-performing team environment.
Key qualifications
* High calibre presenter. Highly experienced facilitator with solid experience in pedagogical design and delivery of behavioural change programmes to sophisticated leadership audiences, likely gained working at Head of L&D level in a large corporate or through senior consulting experience. Demonstrated credibility as a presenter (ie TedX or conference speaker).
* Solid consulting experience. 5+ years of consulting experience, ideally in gender equity, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), organisational development, or human capital consulting managing a portfolio of revenue in the region of £1-£3m, with experience of new business development.
* An understanding of global corporates. Solid experience and understanding of how leadership development and career progression happens in blue-chip corporates and best practices in this space, likely gained either through work in or consulting / selling to blue chip companies.
* A strong appreciation of the unique career challenges for women. Gained either through academic research and / or the design and delivery of women’s development programmes in a consulting/corporate environment.
* Accredited coach (either ACC or PCC or equivalent certification or equivalent) with solid experience of 1-on-1 development work. Such as coaching, mentoring, 360 feedback, psychometric assessment feedback experience, and advice regarding career development (particularly for women).
* Team management experience. Experience of managing direct reports, including performance management, recruitment, and professional development.
* Adept at working across cultures with an appreciation of the nuances of working cross culturally.
* The academic disposition to take an evidence-based approach to design and delivery interventions, drawing on proven (rather than popular) science.
