Job Description
Do you ever worry that you’re just an anonymous Architectural Professional in a struggling industry with no way to either get up the ladder or get off of it altogether?
There is a way to enjoy the progression, the money, the 9-5 lifestyle, the Bonus, the Pension, the private health and not waste the years of experience, the education and skills you’ve got.
You won’t need to wait for the step up the ladder to a management position because that’s what this is, and you won’t have to suddenly do BD. You won’t have to drop your salary and you can say goodbye to the long hours, the deadlines that are out of your control and the stress of it all.
If you’re more technically focussed, you know Building Regulations and you have even just a faint idea of what the Building Regulations Principal Designer role is, you’re already extremely valuable. Sadly, just not to Architectural Practices.
In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king. These consultants don’t have, and never will have one tenth of your knowledge of Building Regulations. You may not have known that before, but now that you do, will you go where your knowledge is valued the most?
What you’ll be doing
Ensuring submitted work from other disciplines are compliant with building regulations.
Making sure that specifications are built and applied as designed.
Managing and organising compliance.
Advising the End User Client of their responsibilities and on Design decisions.
Building a team that you’ll delegate to and manage.
Soon you’ll be in full control of a P&L and everything else that comes with a thriving division of an established business.
What you’ll need
Experienced Architect or Architectural Technologist / Technician with a strong Technical Focus.
Some knowledge of Building Regulations and Fire Safety.
The ability to read drawings.
The ability to use or learn Trackers and spreadsheets to project manage and organise yourself.
