As a proactive Senior Quantity Surveyor, the successful post holder will support the Service Manager with the operational and financial management of their Service/business area. The post holder will work with colleagues across the organisation in line with Kirklees’s core behaviours and values, supporting the Service Manager to deliver the organisation’s purpose, vision and objectives.
There is a need for a pro-active person who is comfortable with challenge and working with colleagues across the organisation to develop and agree new processes and procedures.
The post will focus on:
1. Developing a process for capital programs and monitoring the progress, which will include challenging any slippage in the delivery.
2. Ensuring timely and accurate Target Costs, valuations and final accounts are produced to strict deadlines for all work themes.
3. Ensure the team has access to the most effective technology.
4. Compliance on Procurement within Service.
5. Support and development of the team which will include an apprentice and a number of staff who are taking professional qualifications.
6. Support colleagues on all procurement needs including planning, and coordinate each activity that needs to go to market.
