Crowden Outdoor Education Centre is seeking to recruit 2 x Cooks in Charge, to support the operation of our high-quality outdoor education provision. If you have an eye for detail and a passion for customer service, you could be just the person we are looking for.
Successful candidates will have knowledge or experience in the following areas:
1. Experience of catering
2. Preparation cooking and service of meals to required standards in accordance with approved menus, recipes, and portion guidelines
3. Managing a food budget
4. Monitoring stock control systems
5. Knowledge of Food Hygiene Legislation
6. Understanding of Health & Safety requirements
7. Using basic ICT
You will play a key part in the operation of the service, working with a small, dedicated team to deliver exceptional visitor experiences through the delivery of high-quality home-cooked meals to our customers. You will work alongside the Kitchen Manager, other Cooks in Charge, and the Housekeeper to deliver fresh homemade meals to our guests and support the wider domestic services on site. You will work independently at times to ensure food preparation is completed for the evening service.
Our current catering offer is consistently rated outstanding by our guests. With the retirement of the existing provider, we are now looking for passionate individuals to continue to maintain the high levels of service our customers expect. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal part in young people’s outdoor education experiences.
