North Eastern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority is one of 10 authorities surrounding the coastline of England, our statutory function is to manage a sustainable marine environment and inshore fisheries.

We are currently seeking to recruit, on a permanent basis, to the position of Environmental and Scientific Officer/IFCO. This is both an exciting and rare opportunity to join our Environmental and Scientific Team. The work is extremely varied from ‘day to day’ and you will be involved in all aspects of Fisheries Management, from collating data to implementing management measures and enforcement. You will be working under the direction of the Environmental & Scientific Manager to support the delivery of the Authority’s statutory responsibilities. The role includes undertaking and supporting environmental surveys both onshore and offshore onboard both fishing vessels and a new ‘state of the art’ research vessel currently in build.
Environmental and Scientific Officer/IFCO
Based in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, routine duties include supporting the Authority’s marine research and survey programmes, collating and analysing data and producing reports. The role also involves supporting a wide variety of operational activity throughout the Authority’s district. You will have the drive, vision and ambition to complement this unique opportunity. Both Offshore work and occasional weekend work will be an essential part of this role.
