Warehouse Operative (034jc) – Plymouth – circa £25k + Benefits
This client has over 30 years of experience in the marine safety sector and is now seeking a warehouse operative to join their expanding team in their Plymouth site.
You will report to the branch manager and will be responsible for efficiently handling stock, managing deliveries, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. You will play a key role in maintaining stock levels, organising van routes, and supporting order fulfilment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Receiving & Dispatching: Book in deliveries, pack and send out orders, and prepare weekly van deliveries.
2. Stock Management: Maintain organised stock levels, track min/max quantities, replenish stock, and manage stock requests.
3. Warehouse Operations: Keep the warehouse clean and well-organised, ensuring smooth workflows.
4. Van Route Coordination: Plan and schedule van deliveries each week for efficient operations.
5. System & Administrative Tasks: Use the branch interface to check stock, review orders, and book in work orders via docket forms.
6. Product Knowledge: Show eagerness to learn about our products and apply that knowledge effectively.
7. Stock Checks & Audits: Conduct regular stock checks and advise on stock levels.
8. Forklift & Driving: Ideally forklift trained (or willing to be trained) and preferably hold a valid driver’s license.
What they are looking for:
1. Previous experience in warehouse operations is highly desirable.
2. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
3. Ability to work independently and take initiative.
4. Basic IT skills for stock checking and order processing.
5. Good communication and teamwork skills.
6. A proactive approach to learning and adopting new processes.
7. Forklift experience (preferred but training available).
8. A valid driver’s license (preferred but not essential).
Essentially, they are looking for someone who is organised and motivated, who is seeking to be part of a dynamic warehouse team. You will be working 37.5 hrs per week, Mon to Thur 8.30 to 5.00 and Fri 8.30 to 4.00.
In return, they offer a good starting salary circa £25k, with 25 days leave plus Bank Holidays, and a company pension scheme.
