Teaching Assistants required for Independent Secondary Schools in St Albans
Teaching Personnel are the UK's leading education staffing supplier and we are currently sourcing Teaching Assistants for a number of support staff opportunities in Secondary Schools for the St Albans and surrounding areas from September 2024.
We are mostly seeking Teaching Assistants who can commit to long-term contracts or are seeking future permanent employment in a school. Teaching Assistant contracts can last anywhere between 1 month to 3 months, with the opportunity to go permanent for some schools.
What to expect as a Teaching Assistant?
As a Teaching Assistant, you could:
1. Help teachers prepare lesson materials
2. Set up and tidy classrooms for lessons
3. Work with students on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting their learning
4. Watch, record and report the progress students make
5. Look after children who are upset or unwell
6. Lead classes with help from the teacher
Would you be the right fit?
1. Previous experience in a school is advantageous
2. Friendly, confident and calm attitude
3. Previous experience working with children or young adults
4. Adaptable to working with children with vulnerable backgrounds
5. An individual with good knowledge of Safeguarding and Keeping Children Safe in Education
6. Be passionate about helping students to succeed academically, emotionally, socially
7. Have a calming presence and be able to engage well with the pupils (Year 1 to Year 11)
8. Dedicated to ensuring that all children achieve their very best
9. Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of the school
