A great family run business - manufacturer of panel products in the Building Materials sector with a £40m turnover business. This is a sales role with a strong account management element, managing a sales ledger of £2.5m and a massive scope for developing the current ledger.
Requirements:
- Background in internal or external sales
- Ideally have timber / sheet materials / panel product knowledge
- General Construction Sales Experience / Building Materials / Builders Merchants knowledge is sufficient

It could be hybrid or start out on the road as an Area Sales Manager / Business Development Manager - the company will mold the role to suit you!
This highly successful business is looking to recruit a new position within their well-regarded company. The role will likely be an internal / external mix with hybrid options. The current ledger is fully formed and functioning well; however, a need has been identified for more account management to happen. New business is always welcome and forms an integral part of the role.
They need an enthusiastic person familiar with maximizing current business relationships and confident in developing new ones. This position requires someone who is confident in talking to people, understanding their needs, and acting to provide excellent customer service. Attention to detail is also key. There are clear rewards within this company; the right people can progress further, and genuine talent will always be respected.
They don't want an order processor! They need a proactive, hungry sales professional ideally from the timber supplies or building supplies / builders merchants sector who will go above and beyond. You will interact with customers over the phone, by email, and face to face, asking questions, finding out about the projects the clients are working on, taking quotation inquiries, developing rapport, and upselling where possible. You will need to think on your feet and ideally demonstrate sound product knowledge when called upon.
The other part of the role involves working on quotations, generating quotes, and following these up to turn them into orders. We are looking for a confident individual with high levels of customer service. This role requires someone proactive who will pick up the phone and talk to customers!
You must be able to demonstrate strong sales skills, and while timber / sheet materials knowledge would be ideal, as a minimum, you must have worked in the general merchants environment.
