com is the official record keeper for various combat sports, including professional boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, and bare knuckle fighting. BoxRec.com is a website for both the public and the boxing industry, used by at least 100,000 people every day. We work with over 460 different sports authorities around the world.
We are a global, yet local company, with our software development team based in Yorkshire. You will be required to work remotely with monthly meet-ups with the lead developer and rest of leadership - offering a great work-life balance.
The IT team is small and lean, the candidate will take up core responsibility for the development of service applications.
As an official record keeper, our mission is to provide a comprehensive online database dedicated to preserving the history of combat sports. We strive to transparently document every fighter and their bouts, providing accurate and unbiased data for fans, historians, and the combat sports community at large. We look to serve the combat sports industry by providing an online service to our data and software that simplifies the recording of data.
This full time role covers the entire development life-cycle from requirements capture/analysis, to design, implementation, deployment and support. The platform for BoxRec is PHP (MVC framework) with a MySQL database and incorporating JQuery and React at the front-end, deployed in a Linux environment.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated bespoke developer who is able to report on their tasks, identify resources, handle software and API development, deployment, maintenance, bug fixing, and service monitoring to the Project Manager ensuring all work activities and tasks are appropriately and accurately logged.

Database: MySQL – SQL, ORM, PDO, Stored Procedures
Server Software: Apache webserver, MySQL Database,

Writing database queries

Undergrad degree in software engineering
~3+ years of experience in software development
