Ribble Rivers Trust (RRT) is a regional charity established in 1998 to conserve the Ribble Catchment, particularly its rivers, brooks, becks, and streams. Over the last 10 years, RRT has developed and grown into a sector-leading organisation, known for getting things done, strong partnership working and a collaborative approach. We have five teams focusing on Data and Evidence, Land Management, People and Learning, River Conservation and Core Services. Every team member is empowered to achieve their best. Our teams work collaboratively on integrated projects to improve, protect and create a mosaic of habitats and land uses that will lead to a healthy riverine environment. This is underpinned by a science-driven approach that helps us to focus on areas that have the greatest issues and could benefit the most from our efforts. This role will assist the Data and Evidence Team with the monitoring of catchment health and the impacts of our projects, particularly focusing on water quality and habitat quality. The role will also work with our Citizen Science volunteers to aid in the collection of this data. As such, the Trust is looking to recruit a competent and enthusiastic person who will be joining a creative team, committed to making a difference to the environment through an evidence-driven approach. This person will have experience in assisting with a range of monitoring techniques and environmental surveying and lab-based analysis, including data collection, data entry and maintenance of equipment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are self-motivated and passionate about the environment and the use of data and evidence to aid conservation efforts. They must have a strong attention to detail and be a good communicator with experience of teamwork. A good knowledge of the functioning of river catchments will also be beneficial. The full job specification and application form can be viewed on our website. Please note that this is a fixed term contract with a start date of Monday 9th June 2025, and applicants must be available for the majority of the summer. We are unable to accept CVs for this role. The closing date for applications is the 21st April at 5pm, with interviews shortly afterwards.
