As a Robot Inspection Technician, you will provide specialist Robotic Inspection vehicle support to National Gas Services (NGS) and its customers across a range of gas projects to ensure compliance with legislation, policies & procedures and Quality Management Systems. You will provide expert engineering support with regards all “Project GRAID” robotic inspections whilst participating working groups to develop, review and implement NGS policies, procedures, specifications and industry standards to drive continuous improvement. You will support the development and implementation of robotic inspections on previously inaccessible gas pipework to ensure compliance with the relevant legislation. You will undertake depot duties which could include developing new techniques, safety inspections, fabrication and attendance / participate in meetings and committees on request. You will identify best practice and lessons learned and ensure that these are embedded into future robot inspection projects. Ensure all tools, equipment, and vehicles are safe, maintained, tested and calibrated where required and all legislative requirements are complied with. What we are looking for To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of In-line inspection technologies, previous experience in operating robotic inspection vehicles and maintaining electronic & mechanical robotic equipment. You will poses an NVQ level 3 (higher or equivalent) in either Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics. Whilst primarily based at our Ambergate site, given there will be customer work there will be occasional travel across the UK.
