Job Description
Wood is currently recruiting a Senior Project Engineer with extensive experience in the Oil and Gas Industry to work on various decommissioning projects within the UK North Sea.
Hybrid Working - Working from home and 3 days a week expected in our Aberdeen office.
Responsibilities
This position will report to the project manager and is responsible for driving and coordinating all project activities across a variety of scopes associated with decommissioning oil and gas facilities both onshore and offshore.
This may include projects which assess all aspects of the WBS associated with decommissioning oil and gas infrastructure including Operator Project Management, Facility Running / Owner Costs, Well Abandonment, Facilities / Pipeline Make Safe, Topside Preparation, Topside / Substructure Removal, Onshore Recycling, Subsea Infrastructure, Site Remediation and Monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver fit-for-purpose decommissioning solutions for construction-led approaches in assigned project(s) through coordinating and delivering engineering assurance.
* Apply the OEUK decom WBS for onshore/offshore installations, providing technical assessment and analysis to develop decom reports & liability estimates.
* Coordinate activities performed by engineers and designers from various disciplines to support timely issuing of engineering deliverables.
* Understand relevant engineering and HSE procedures and standards associated with decommissioning and removal of oil and gas infrastructure.
* Facilitate workshops for the development of decom studies, including optioneering across technical, cost, social, environmental, and safety criteria.
* Monitor and support compliance with quality, HSE, and assurance standards.
* Prepare basic schedules, planning, and resource forecasting for engineering activities.
* Ensure accurate and timely delivery of work to the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
* Alert Project Manager of potential delays or changes and support implementation of approved changes.
* Coordinate and assure technical excellence of interdisciplinary project deliverables.

Qualifications
Who we are looking for:
* Bachelor's degree or Master's in an engineering discipline.
* Extensive experience as a discipline engineer in a project environment.
* Good understanding of technical work scope, key dates, and milestones.
* Completely familiar with project contractual and commercial requirements.
* Fully conversant with project scopes and work carried out by all engineering disciplines.
* Understands customer satisfaction and can deliver to internal customers.
* Knows how to apply the procedures and work practices defining Engineering Management and Project Engineering deliverables.
* Recognizes the importance of accuracy and timely issue of Project Engineering deliverables.
* Commercially astute and aware of the importance of Change control.
* Good knowledge of engineering standards, procedures, and work practices.
* Able to lead a small team with minimal intervention from the manager.
