Working for one of the biggest Aerospace companies in the world, Morson are currently recruiting for a Work Package Leader to support sustainable fuel development. Working within Fuel and Additives you will coordinate and give direction to a motivated team of fuel scientists for future developments. You will need experience as a Project Manager, Project Leader, Project Engineer or Work Package Manager within an engineering environment, ideally with a focus on Chemistry or R&D.
The role has been raised to cover a secondment so is initially from March to September, but may have permanent opportunities. Based in Filton there will be a minimum of 3 days a week on site across a 35-hour week. We can pay a rate of £32.97 per hour PAYE or £43.61 per hour Umbrella.
Responsibilities
Focus on the management of fuels and fuel additives for conventional kerosene aircraft in service to assess and approve changes.
Support the project management of the planned tasks, and manage new work requested from the team. Including scoping of work, assessing budget needs, and ensuring work is delivered on time.
A key responsibility is to coordinate with other stakeholders building and driving internal planning to introduce new fuels & additives to the full Family of aircraft.
Developing a shared vision for the future of fuel and additive development activities in collaboration with the Future Fuels Leader
Providing functional support to the fuel properties team to prioritise workload and communicate schedule and spend progress. Provide clear, simple progress statements to internal customers and stakeholders
Estimating cost and lead times working in collaboration with the Group Leader to meet resource and deliverable requests from programme.
Essential Skills
Experience as an senior engineer with project/work leadership responsibilities.
Track record of leading projects and successful delivery.
Excellent stakeholder management both internal and external and communicate concisely with stakeholders on progress, risks and opportunities.
Need to have an understanding of R&D or engineering development.
Strong experience working with transnational teams and across contractual boundaries with customers and suppliers.
Ability to drive work in Agile or traditional project management approaches.
Ability to manage complex technical information.
Desirable skills
Degree, or equivalent experience in engineering or chemistry.
A knowledge of fuel properties, fuel systems and sustainability initiatives.
Experience in a chemistry specialism.
Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
