Metroline Manchester is a recently formed subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, in March 2024 we were awarded contracts to operate four franchises and join the Bee Network in Greater Manchester by Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). Metroline was formed in 1989, fourth largest bus operator in London running about 17 percent of the city’s scheduled bus services and has been a part of the largest private land transport company Comfort Del Gro since 2000. Job Summary
As an integral member of the Engineering Team, reporting to the Fleet Engineer and collaborating with other members of the team and specialists the primary function of this role is to manage the garage stores in an effective manner, ensuring that an adequate, but not excessive, supply of parts and materials is stocked to meet the garage’s engineering needs. Complying at all times with health and safety legislation and Metroline’s policy statement on health and safety.
To ensure that a rapid response is made to requests for stock issues from garages.

Essential Criteria
* Thorough knowledge of stores procedures and demonstrable experience of running a materials store with full responsibility for its smooth operation.
* A clear appreciation of the consequences of “stockouts” in an internal engineering store to the smooth running of the business.
* Previous exposure to computerised stock control systems and be competent in their application.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation including the 1974 Health & Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Act 1989.
* Excellent administrative skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office and Excel.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Valid Forklift Truck Licence;
Hours of Work
Basic 38 hours per week.
Flexibility required for hours/days worked (including weekends) in line with operational requirements.
