Doors are opening in Rochdale... Come join us on our Journey!!!
Do you have what it takes to become an exceptional part of a Local Authority that wants to make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people that we care for?
Rochdale Borough Council is going through a programme of transformation, and so there could not be a better or more exciting time to join our team and be a part of our journey.
As a part of this transformation, we are expanding our Children’s Residential Service and opening two new homes for children and young people aged from 8-17, with social and emotional needs and difficulties.
We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, and proactive individuals to take on the role of Assistant Manager to work in one of our new homes.
Your manager will be a Dual Registered Manager overseeing 2 homes, so this role will mean you are a lead person in managing the home to support this arrangement.
The children and young people in all our homes need care, love, nurture, and support to help them work through the difficulties they may have experienced or are currently experiencing, and to help enhance their lives and future outcomes.
The children and young people need committed and dependable individuals who will go above and beyond to make them feel safe and secure, and who will promote their emotional health and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who will be a positive role model for both our children and young people, and the team of workers at the home.
In the role of Assistant Manager, you will also monitor, review, and audit systems in the home to ensure compliance with Ofsted and operate within the framework of the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard 2023, and the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015.
There is an expectation that you will supervise workers on a regular basis and undertake annual Delve/Appraisals, and also deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
You will be part of a supportive management team, where there are real opportunities for your personal and professional development. Our training offer in Rochdale is second to none, including you completing the Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training programme, which is the foundation of our ‘Model of Care’.
We want our Assistant Managers to be our future Registered Managers, and so we will support you to achieve this.
You must be over 21 years of age and have at least 2 years’ experience working with Children and Young People, preferably in a residential setting. You must be qualified to NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Working with Children and Young People or equivalent and preferably hold a Diploma Level 4 or above, but don’t worry if you don’t hold a Level 4, as we will support you to complete the Level 5 in Leadership & Management.
The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects staff to share this commitment.
Casual User Car Allowance is payable.
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.
