Doors are opening in Rochdale. Come join us on our journey!
Do you have what it takes to become an exceptional part of a Local Authority that wants to make a real difference to the lives of the children and young people that we care for?
Rochdale Borough Council is going through a programme of transformation, and there could not be a better or more exciting time to join our team and be a part of our journey.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and proactive individual to take on the role of Assistant Manager, to work in one of our established homes for children and young people with social and emotional needs and difficulties.
The children and young people in our homes need care, love, nurture, and support to help them work through the difficulties they may have experienced or are currently experiencing, and to help enhance their current and future lives.
The children and young people need a committed and dependable Assistant Manager, who will go above and beyond to make them feel safe and secure, and who will promote their emotional health and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who will be a positive and supportive role model for both our children and young people and the team of workers at the home. In support of the team, you will also help to provide regular and effective supervision, including an annual ‘Delve’ Appraisal.
In the role of Assistant Manager, you will also help to monitor, review, and audit the systems and processes in the home to ensure compliance with Ofsted and be confident that the home is operating within the framework of the Children Act, Working Together 2023, and the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015. There is also an expectation that you will deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
We want our homes to be rated at least “Good”, with a real ambition for all our homes to be “Outstanding”.
You will be part of an encouraging and supportive management team, where there are real opportunities for your personal and professional development. Our training offer in Rochdale is second to none, including completing the Therapeutic Parenting with PACE training programme, which is the foundation of our ‘Model of Care’ and practice across all our homes for both the care and support of the children and young people and also the workers too.
We want our Assistant Managers to be our future Registered Managers, and we will support you to achieve this.
You must be over 21 years of age and have at least 2 years’ experience working with Children and Young People. You must be qualified to NVQ/Diploma Level 3 Working with Children and Young People or equivalent and preferably hold a Level 5 in Leadership & Management. Don’t worry if you don’t hold a Level 5, as we will support you to complete this as part of your professional development.
Part of the recruitment process will involve an Interview/Activity with Cared 4 children & young people.
Casual User Car Allowance is payable.
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check for the child workforce.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
