What the Job Involves Deliver high-quality, professional collection and assessment services for Council Tax and Business Rates. Handle complex queries related to Council Tax discounts, exemptions, and liabilities, as well as Business Rates calculations and exemptions. Administer day-to-day billing, collection, and recovery of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates. Maintain compliance with Corporate Policies and relevant legislation to maximize revenue and accuracy of data. Support continuous improvement initiatives and application of automation in service delivery. Assist in staff induction, training, and supervisory roles as needed. Engage directly with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve inquiries and manage billing/recovery processes. Attendance at Magistrate’s Court may be required for negotiation and query resolution. Regularly update and communicate with your line manager regarding work changes and developments.
