Purpose
Support in the management of an experienced team of removers; identify and manage some elements of the technical aspects of the removal process, learning to effectively price projects, develop a team, and assist with the growth of the business.
We would look to recruit a Trainee Contracts Manager.
Reports to
Regional Manager, Cornwall
Main Duties:
1. Support the business with liaison with clients, site visits for assessment, and preparation of quotations. Ensure all works are carried out to the best of your ability.
2. Assist to identify, win, and develop new client accounts, maintaining the highest standard of service for the existing client base.
3. Complete project records on our SimPRO Project Management and CRM system and Assure360 Asbestos Management System.
4. Prepare site-specific risk assessments and detailed method statements ensuring compliance with all relevant HSE regulations. Notify the project to the enforcing authority when required.
5. Convey the information contained within the site-specific risk assessment and method statement to site personnel to ensure full understanding.
6. Programme works and resources to ensure client and company needs are met.
7. Oversee work carried out by removal teams to ensure the highest standard of workmanship is achieved. Assist colleagues to fulfill their duties.
8. Create clear and accurate job files ensuring all relevant paperwork is contained before submitting for archiving.
9. Take all reasonable steps to ensure health and safety and welfare at work. Understand and enforce the Company’s health and safety procedures.
10. Carry out regular health and safety checks, including site audits.
11. Ensure operatives are fully trained and competent for the work undertaken.
12. Ensure the safety of branch premises and any vehicles left at these premises are adequately secured and maintain cleanliness and general appearance to portray a professional company image.
13. Report accidents, whether staff or motor, to Head Office the same day.
14. Maintain a smart standard of dress as required by any person representing the company.
15. Ensure subcontract companies and labor are competent in their tasks and that all Health & Safety paperwork and standards are met.
16. Work hours are from 7.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Monday to Friday, with the possibility of additional hours as instructed by your Manager.
Qualifications and experience:
1. Evidence of some management experience and display good all-round interpersonal skills as well as leadership and people management skills.
2. Evidence of experience in successfully managing both small and large-scale projects through to completion.
3. Be commercially astute, with a requirement to negotiate "profitable" contracts and build long-term client relationships.
4. Understand all financial aspects of the Contract Management process and be able to produce detailed working programmes and plans of work.
5. Having an understanding of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 would be advantageous.
6. Monitor contract progress; assist the Regional Director to ensure both client requirements and company profit targets are met.
Other qualities and requirements:
Evidence sufficient knowledge, experience, and training to demonstrate competence in:
1. H&S issues and legislative requirements for the removal of asbestos.
2. Control measures required for the removal of asbestos.
3. Preparation to carry out asbestos removal.
4. Decontamination requirements.
5. Set up enclosures for the safe removal of asbestos.
6. Procedures for the safe removal of asbestos.
7. Cleaning and decontamination procedures.
8. Procedures for the packaging and disposal of asbestos waste.
Willing to develop further in line with Company expectations and to undergo training courses as required.
