Strategic Account Manager – Northern England

We have an exciting opportunity available for a commercially astute and passionate Strategic Account Manager to join the Market Access team in Northern England. This role is ideal for someone with experience in negotiating/managing agreements with ICB’S/CCG’s as the successful candidate will focus on developing new business and maintaining relationships with existing clients, particularly within NHS strategic accounts.
Key Responsibilities
* Market Analysis: Map locality trust, corporate accounts, and commissioning funding flows. Understand decision-making processes and key stakeholders to create, inform, and implement the local business plan.
* Strategy Development: Develop and execute an integrated engagement strategy for surgical products across defined strategic accounts.
* Relationship Building: Lead engagement and partnership activities with senior clinical and non-clinical leadership, commissioners, and C-suite stakeholders, demonstrating our approach to value-based health care.
* Influence and Advocacy: Engage and influence senior commissioners to remove restrictive commissioning in eye care.
* Competitive Positioning: Use customer insights to anticipate challenges and opportunities, ensuring our surgical brand strategy is competitive and adapts to the changing external environment.
* Contracting and Negotiation: Develop contracting strategies and negotiate contracts to drive sales, providing subject matter expertise to support account managers in key stakeholder meetings.
* Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and benefit realization of our commercial value offerings.
* Product Differentiation: Differentiate our products and technologies from the competition, emphasizing features and benefits while overcoming objections from existing and potential customers.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in education, science, or business.
* Proven sales experience and success within the Medtech industry.
* Experience working with senior clinical and non-clinical NHS leadership (C-suite).
* Ability to work cross-functionally and in a matrix organization.
* Experience using budget impact models and demonstrating value concepts.
* Ideally, experience in ophthalmology (not essential).
* Leadership experience, directly or indirectly, with sales teams, service projects, or commissioning customers within the locality region.
* Ability to work and lead during times of ambiguity.
* Strong leadership and accountability skills to shape and define the role.
