Manufacturing Operations Engineer
Employment: Full Time - Permanent
Location: Derby, UK - Onsite
Our Client is a global leader in innovative energy and aerospace turbomachinery, specializing in the development of next gas turbines. They are looking for a Manufacturing Operations Engineer for a permanent position based in Derby.
Role
The Manufacturing Operations Engineer (MOE) will require a basic understanding of project and manufacturing engineering. The role involves supporting integrated product teams by setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), managing internal and external manufacturing-related activities, maintaining external supplier relationships, and interfacing with Quality Engineering to ensure that product and non-product materials comply with company quality procedures and to disposition any non-conforming material.
Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs) and associated MOE tools. You should have a solid understanding of turbomachinery fundamentals and the importance of interfacing rotating and static hardware in relation to engine operation.
Your role will involve serving as the interface between purchasing, design, manufacturing, and quality departments. Additionally, you will develop and maintain supplier relationships, document lessons learned to improve design for manufacturing, ensure our designs meet manufacturing requirements, set and execute project schedules, provide weekly status updates, and determine solutions for non-conformances.
Qualifications & Experience
* A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a relevant technical degree.
* Work experience in a manufacturing environment with CAD experience is beneficial.
* Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers/suppliers.
* The work environment will include a combination of office and lab/workshop, and travel will be required from time to time throughout the UK and Europe.
