The Role:
My mainstream client based in Gloucester is actively seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Science Teacher with a Physics specialism to assume their Head of Physics post, starting in September 2025 on a permanent full-time basis. You will be responsible not only for guiding students across a range of academic ability through one of their crucial core subjects at GCSE level and a popular subject choice at A-level but also for providing direction and structure for the department’s staff. Full planning and marking responsibilities are required for this post, to deliver ambitious and organised Science lessons across Key Stages 3 to 5. To thrive in this role you will need excellent curriculum knowledge, in addition to demonstrable ambition and organisation to further strengthen and elevate the Physics department.
The School:
You will be joining a small and close-knit team of Physics specialists, bolstered by a larger group of Science Teachers from other specialisms, each of which bring passion and a desire to see their students succeed. You will be joining a well resourced physics department, building on the school’s history of excellent examination results within the science department. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Physics Teachers looking to take on additional responsibility and progress their career, as well as current Head of Physics to explore a new vibrant school environment. The successful Head of Physics can expect a salary in line with the main and upper teacher pay scales (£31,650 - £49,084) in addition to the scope for a TLR 2B.
