We are seeking a Multi Site Deputy Manager for a great opportunity with fantastic additional benefits working for a well established provider in Sittingbourne and Ashford.
The role oversees Two Four Bed EBD homes which are situated within five minutes of each other. They are Separately Registered.
Starting Salary offered £40,000 - (Negotiable dependent on Experience) the role offers full autonomy to manage your diary between both homes and additional hybrid working opportunity.
* Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare is Essential.
* Having a Proven track record of running an Ofsted Regulated Children's Residential home and delivering either Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspection results is essential.
Main Purpose:
* To safeguard and promote the delivery of high-quality individualised care to the children and young people living in the home.
* Ensuring consistency with company core values, compliance with the Children Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), The Guide to the Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), and compliance with any other regulatory expectations, being mindful of the content of the Social Care Common Inspection Framework.
* To lead and manage the home in a way which is consistent with the approach, ethos, and delivers the outcomes as set out in the home’s statement of purpose.
* To understand the impact the quality of care provided in the home is having on the progress and experiences of each child.
* To ensure effective consultation with young people, staff and other stakeholders to support the development and maintenance of a safe and appropriate culture in line with the organisational core values and regulatory requirements.
* To be involved in the recruitment, monitoring, training, retention and mentoring of staff as necessary taking responsibility to ensure staff undertake all training required for their role.
* To participate in the on-call system.
* To maintain up to date knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for residential care and communicate this to staff as appropriate.
* Ensure that the home functions in such a manner that staff, children and young people understand, recognise and celebrate the diversity of cultures and beliefs within the local and wider community.
* To develop and maintain good working relationships and work in partnership with families, local authorities and external agencies.
* To act as a role model, to portray a positive, professional image and build positive relationships with children and young people, staff and stakeholders.
* To work in line with organisational expectations in relation to KPIs specific to your role.
* To manage and operate in a manner that is conducive with the organisation’s core values.
* To maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the home, ensuring a homely, warm, welcoming, supportive safe environment, usable grounds and undertake checks and remedial action as required by the organisation. This includes performing household duties such as cooking and general cleaning, sorting laundry, checking children’s bedrooms and encouraging them to keep their rooms tidy.
* To effectively manage admissions and discharges, ensuring risk is appropriately managed and effective support is provided.
* To ensure the home is adequately staffed at all times, maximising the capacity of the rota appropriately to provide best value and deliver care to meet young people’s individualised needs.
* To ensure staff have the experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge to meet the needs of each child in line with policies of the home and those set out in Children’s Legislation and Regulations.
* To ensure the home makes best use of local community resources.
* To undertake audit and monitoring ensuring information is accurate and up to date. To identify trends and shortfalls to inform learning and development both by the home and for individual young people, providing management reports as required by the organisation.
* To undertake effective supervision, appraisal, performance management and capability of staff in line with regulatory requirements and organisational policies and procedures, taking part in dispute resolution procedures including disciplinary, capability, grievance and appeal procedures.
* To ensure staff are provided with a robust induction and probationary period which is monitored and reviewed.
* To manage a designated budget, reviewing expenditure regularly ensuring it does not exceed the allocated budget and reporting this to your line manager through supervision.
* To ensure that staff operate the petty cash system within the required guidelines and any financial irregularities are identified and reported.
* To keep and oversee high-quality accurate and objective records across all areas, reporting and recording of all records addressing any shortfalls as appropriate.
