Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Director (US based) to drive our growth strategy through deal-making, partnership development, and opportunity evaluation. This role is pivotal in sourcing, structuring, and executing high-value transactions while leveraging invoX’s platform technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Business Development Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and execute BD opportunities, including in-licensing, out-licensing, co-promotion, co-development, investments, acquisitions, and divestments, in alignment with company objectives.
* Deal Sourcing & Market Intelligence: Leverage AI-powered analytics, market intelligence tools, and digital platforms to identify potential partnerships and assess strategic fit.
* Negotiation & Partnership Management: Lead negotiations with third-party development and supply partners, structuring deals to optimize financial terms, timelines, and strategic benefits.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with commercial, portfolio, regulatory, quality, legal, IP, manufacturing, and finance teams to ensure seamless due diligence and deal execution.
* Market Insights & Competitive Analysis: Utilize AI-driven business intelligence and data analytics to assess market trends, competitor positioning, and industry developments.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential partners, positioning invoX as a preferred partner in the biotech and pharma industry.
* Governance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with global BD governance standards and provide regular reports to senior management on BD activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum of 8 years in biotech or pharmaceutical business development, including deal sourcing, structuring, and negotiation.
* Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the biopharma R&D landscape, from discovery through commercialization.
* Technical Skills:
o Experience with AI-driven deal sourcing, CRM platforms, and business intelligence tools.
o Proficiency in financial modelling and valuation fundamentals.
o Strong PowerPoint (PPT) skills for presenting business cases.
* Soft Skills: Strategic mindset, strong negotiation abilities, excellent communication, and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred:
* Advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD) is highly desirable.
* Established industry network and expertise in creative alliance structures.
* Knowledge of AI applications in biopharma business development.
