HRC recruitment are delighted to be exclusively partnering with our Glasgow based client in the hire of a new 'Head of Finance'. This position is paying up to £75k + bonus and benefits. Operating on a hybrid work model.
The Head of Finance will lead daily financial operations, supporting the Managing Director in managing all financial activities. You will own the cost centre, recharge models, and develop new business recharge frameworks.
Responsibilities include creating financial forecasts, managing risk and controls, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting regulations. You will lead the finance team to deliver high-quality support to operating companies and provide data-driven insights to drive strategic improvements. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you’ll help shape strategy and lead transformational change across the finance function.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to develop pricing strategies and identify growth opportunities.
2. Analyse customer profitability and revenue trends to inform decision-making.
3. Support commercial decisions with financial insight and monitor key profitability metrics.
4. Oversee new business integration and collaborate with group and operating companies to drive value growth.
People Management:
1. Build and lead an effective finance team, recruiting and retaining top talent.
2. Develop team capability, plan for succession, and promote a culture of excellence and compliance.
3. Drive continuous improvement in governance and reporting processes.
4. Prepare budgets and quarterly updates while ensuring compliance with group policies.
5. Lead the preparation of monthly performance reports and dashboards.
6. Ensure statutory and regulatory deadlines are met.
Process Improvement:
1. Develop and maintain process controls to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency.
2. Implement approved process improvements and ensure documentation is current.
3. Work with Group Finance to enhance financial systems.
General Responsibilities:
1. Support department heads to achieve the best financial outcomes.
2. Manage supplier relationships, banking access, and financial audits.
3. Oversee the relationship with the accounting software provider and drive system improvements.
Candidate Requirements:
1. Degree in Finance or Accounting and a professional accounting qualification.
2. Significant post-qualification experience in industry.
3. Proven analytical and commercial skills, with a deep understanding of VAT and accounting standards.
4. Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills at the senior management level.
5. Experience with Open Accounts/EBis is advantageous.
