Position: Citizenship Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Citizenship Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Sutton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher or a committed ECT to make a real impact on students' understanding of democracy, human rights, and active citizenship.
The Role:
Teach Citizenship across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5
Deliver engaging lessons on topics such as law, government, democracy, human rights, and social justice
Encourage debate, critical thinking, and active participation in society
Plan and assess effectively to ensure excellent student progress
Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, student-led initiatives, and events
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Experience teaching Citizenship, PSHE, or related subjects at secondary school level
A strong understanding of the national curriculum and exam board requirements
Excellent classroom management and communication skills
A passion for developing students’ awareness of social and political issues
