Main Purpose
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join a premier team of Quality Assurance Specialists at the 423 Civil Engineer Squadron, Royal Air Force Alconbury, United Kingdom. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the Quality Assurance Section. The Chief of Quality Assurance will plan, organize, and direct the activities of the Quality Assurance Section, 423 Civil Engineer Squadron Operations Flight, ensuring that contractor-provided operations, maintenance, repair and minor construction activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Knowledge and Experience Required
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
1. Knowledge of construction techniques sufficient to develop Statements of Work, interpret and explain contract specifications and requirements relating to building and facility operations, maintenance and repair, and minor construction.
2. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and construction work to include architectural and engineering plans and specifications.
3. Knowledge of the installation of various systems to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures within the construction industry.
5. Skill in using computer-based software programs to create and maintain records and reports.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
7. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Other Important Information
* Hours of work: 0800-1630 Mon-Fri. Start & end times may be modified due to mission needs.
* Will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules, and regulations.
* Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
* May be assigned other duties that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the employee.
* May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties.
* A 6-month probationary period will be required.
* Overtime may be required.
* May be required to travel overnight to US or other countries in the performance of official duties.
