Make a Difference – PMLD Teaching Assistant Roles in Pontefract & Castleford
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant eager to support children with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)? We have exciting opportunities in specialist provisions across Pontefract and Castleford.
This role is ideal for individuals with a patient, compassionate nature and a proactive approach to learning support. You will be working with students who have complex needs, providing tailored assistance to help them thrive in an engaging and supportive environment.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include supporting communication, sensory-based learning, and personal care where necessary. You’ll work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure every child has access to the education and care they need.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience working with children with PMLD or similar SEN needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Patience, adaptability, and a compassionate approach to learning support.
* Willingness to assist with personal care if required.
Desirable Skills & Training (Not Essential):
* Moving and Handling training.
* Makaton or alternative communication training.
* Team Teach or behaviour management training.
* Experience with sensory-based learning approaches.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
