Job overview
Nationally it has been recognised that mental health rehabilitation is an area that has often been overlooked for investment and modernisation.
The CRT is part of the Complex Care Service that supports people who have chronic and disabling mental health problems that may be treatment resistant and who may have previously spent long periods in hospital.
We currently provide community rehab services in the East and West of the county as well as 2 inpatient rehab units, and two Assertive Outreach Teams, again one East one West who all work very closely together.
CRT East team is based at Kings Park Hospital, in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth.
The post holder will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Mental Health Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychology Assistants, Support Time Recovery Workers, Social Workers, Care Managers, Admin Assistants, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Medical Staff.
Candidate will be required to work between the hours of Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00, flexibility will be considered.
Main duties of the job
CRT East works as an MDT, discussing, formulating and delivering individualised plans in the community. You will need to be able to work creatively and flexibly to deliver a high standard of care that optimises a person's own health, well-being and recovery.
You will need excellent communication skills and be competent working with patients, carers, families, MDTs and a wide range of agencies.
In return for your enthusiasm we can provide an opportunity for you to develop your clinical skills in a supportive team with regular supervision and appraisals.
As the service covers the geographical area of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, the ability to drive your own vehicle is essential. You may also be expected to transport patients on occasions.
The post, which is based at Bournemouth, is full-time (37.5hrs) and the service operates Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00.
Under the direction of registered/qualified staff the STRW will assist in the provision of clinical care of adults with severe mental illness. They will be expected to professionally promote patients’ recovery in the community whilst concurrently working within the perimeters of legislation, policy and procedures.
