Morson are recruiting for a Materials Controller/Planner. Working within the Logistics/Supply Chain function, responsible for the initiation and management of material issues to support Construction and Manufacturing build.
This role is based in Barrow for a leading defence manufacturer, BAE Systems. Full-time on site, 37 hours a week. FLEXIBLE START AND FINISH TIMES (CORE HOURS).
This role is initially for 6 months, although highly likely to be long-term. Rate per hour is GBP16.00 PAYE plus GBP2.33 holiday pay.
Experience with SAP or similar MRP systems is highly desirable.
Duties:
* Responsible for liaising with planning and other technical departments to ensure timely deadlines are met.
* Understand, develop, and implement greater customer and external relations.
* Access, understand, and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation, e.g., Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments, etc., applicable to your work scope and obey all HS&E rules and control measures.
* Fully support Production IWT structure by ensuring timely completion of actions raised, including material forecasts, expediting support, and timely completion of Notifications and raised 3C's.
* Support business processes including Task Allocation, Kitting, and PMAP process, ensuring timely completion of duties according to process.
* Support business drive around ongoing Material Availability Improvement by the timely release of requisitions to support material availability in store. Instigate material transfers both within and cross-project, ensuring replenishment route is available to comply with business financial requirements. Engage with Planning around Plan discrepancies to maintain a quality Plan.
* Be fully responsible for all the material issues for a designated Facility, Unit, or Material Requirements Planning Controller group (MRPC).
* Fully support the Material Readiness Review process by ensuring all identified materials are pro-actively managed in agreed timeframes.
* Support in the development of department processes.
* Produce appropriate department documentation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* A good understanding of the business.
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge of the capabilities and the most appropriate uses of specialised analysis tools.
* Knowledge or at least recognition of relevant engineering standards (including safety and environmental regulations).
* Skilled in the use of standard Microsoft packages and business systems.
* Sufficient experience to identify all the issues involved in their area of responsibility.
* The correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product.
