Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE) Band 4 - £32,296 to £35,880 per annum About the Post The Finance Officer will support the Manager of Financial Operations in the team’s main responsibility of invoicing and collection of income due to the University. As part of the Financial Operations Team, the Finance Officer will contribute to the smooth running of the team including supervision and oversight of the credit control function to ensure timely collection of outstanding debts and ensure best practice is followed. The successful candidate will support and train staff whilst organising workflows to reduce the level of outstanding balances. Experience of working in collaboration with debt management companies is essential. The credit control team sits within the wider Financial Operations team and maintaining a close working relationship with the wider team will be essential. To be considered for this role the following qualifications/skill are required. GCSE level or equivalent in English & Maths A to C grades Qualified AAT (or an alternative technical qualification or alternatively comparable level of experience) Minimum of 2-year experience as a Credit Controller. Demonstrable experience of using, and sound working knowledge of, financial accounting software and performing detailed financial reconciliations Supervisory experience About the Team This post will be part of the Financial Operations team within the Finance and Planning Directorate at the University of Suffolk; the team’s main responsibility relates to the procuring and paying suppliers and invoicing and collecting of income due to the University This is a friendly team and passionate about making a difference, to promote the values of the University and deliver the best outcomes for both the University and the students.
