Capital Analyst
We are looking for a Capital Analyst to join our Actuarial Team, reporting to the Head of Capital.
The role will include supporting the team with the delivery of regulatory capital requirement calculations at Group and solo entity levels, providing the business with risk and capital analysis to support the strategic decision-making process, and delivering the IMAP project, which includes validation remediation, model development, creation and maintenance of model documentation, and risk parameterisation.
Main Duties
1. Assist with the delivery of capital requirements at Group and solo entity levels for reporting purposes.
2. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.
3. Regular interaction with the Risk function and develop an understanding of the key financial risks faced by Admiral.
4. Assist with the production of the risk and capital analysis to support key decisions across the organisation e.g. business planning, reinsurance strategy and dividends.
5. Support the international businesses with capital queries, sharing UK best practice and understanding the different issues across the business.
6. Provide support and assistance to the other members of the capital modelling team to ensure their ongoing development of the team as a whole.
7. Assist the build and continued improvement of the internal model in readiness for IMAP and beyond:
1. Understand the origins and reasonableness of the data used.
2. Parameterisation of the inputs.
3. Work alongside the existing team members to design and build the models/calculations.
4. Performance of testing on model outputs to ensure appropriateness of model calibration.
5. Perform stress and sensitivity testing.
6. Production of model documentation.
7. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and the regulator.
Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications
1. An actuarial student working their way through the IFoA exams with at least 2 years non-life experience.
2. Highly numerate and analytical with very good academic record (2.1 in maths or relevant degree).
3. Good written and verbal communication skills.
4. Good working knowledge of capital modelling concepts.
5. Good working knowledge of General Insurance capital modelling software (e.g. Igloo, Remetrica).
6. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
7. Understanding of SII.
