About the Role
The Senior Service Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that Adult Social Care services, particularly Supported Living and Mallow Crescent Short Breaks, empower individuals to live their best lives. This role focuses on delivering person-centred care that enhances the quality of life for individuals with learning and physical disabilities and/or who are autistic, ensuring services comply with regulatory standards and uphold the principles of dignity, independence and respect.
This role involves managing and developing services across three main sites: Rodney Place, Langdown House, and Mallow Crescent, each hosting 5-6 supported living houses, and overseeing a team of approximately 160 staff. You will ensure services are designed and delivered to maximise individuals' independence, autonomy and well-being, enabling them to achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.
You'll work closely with the CQC Nominated Individual to ensure our services not only comply with CQC regulations but also maintain the highest standards of care; continuously monitoring and improving service quality to enhance the lives of our service users.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including staff, clients, families and external partners will be essential. As a line manager, you'll mentor new managers, lead disciplinary investigations, conduct safeguarding enquiries, and oversee staff training and development. You'll manage financial resources efficiently, contributing to budgets up to £10 million. Additionally, you'll participate in the on-call rota, ensuring you're available to manage service issues during unsocial hours.
Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is a key priority for Surrey County Council. In this role you will be expected to promote and champion EDI in everything you do in relation to colleagues and residents.
