Summary
AB Group Packaging is a high volume, customer focused Packaging manufacturing business with sites in Ebbw Vale, Wales, Blessington County Wicklow Ireland and Bilbao in Spain. We manufacture the most environmentally conscious Paper Based Packaging for carry and delivery of goods.
We seek an environmentally conscious person who is a qualified, professional and experienced to join our team on a permanent basis to run Production Planning on and take charge of all material planning using Netsuite, a state of art ERP system across all production sites. The role includes some responsibility for professional purchasing of primary material such as paper and some purchasing of more minor ancillary items for all sites as required. There is a requirement to support paper buyers and support material buyers. The role includes responsibility for Quality and Standards and some support Administrative duties on site as required.
The job holder will have proven experience and demonstrated capability in production planning in a paper goods or printed commodity environment using advanced ERP systems. The role is highly administrative using ERP and Rostering Systems. The responsibility to complete the transition to the new systems and continuous improvement sits with role.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key areas for which this job holder will be responsible are:
* Forecasting paper requirements for the group using NetSuite reports and working 2-4-6-8 weeks ahead in the production plan.
* Reviewing weekly group production plans in relation to paper stocks and stock call offs.
* Raising purchase orders for all sites and receiving all goods into the Welsh plant and passing relevant documentation to Accounts.
* Dealing with any queries re payments or stock holding terms with all material suppliers and auditors.
* Working closely with the Warehouse and Production planning teams on all sites to ensure materials meet the correct specification, are delivered on-time, and follow scheduled call offs in the production plan.
* Calling off material for the group as required based on mill production and customer requirements on a just in time model.
* Liaising with suppliers and hauliers to ensure deliveries are on time and contain the correct load and dealing with unexpected changes that occur.
* Working with the Production team to substitute paper in unforeseen changes to meet production requirements and to keep production going in all sites.
* Maintaining and monitoring stocks of all materials for the plants and ensuring Company systems are updated weekly and correct stock levels are shown. Processing approved orders for all materials stock at the Welsh plant.
* Completing end of month stock takes and ensuring that accurate stock levels are shown on Company systems.
* Supporting the Warehouse raw material staff and answering queries relating to stock especially monitor patch and handle stock as stock requirements are fast moving for all machines.
* Managing preparations and completions for the plant audits example, ISO, FSC, PEFC, BRC and others as required including the completion of regular internal company audits.
* Working with NetSuite development on an ongoing basis to improve efficiency and automate material planning purchasing process.
* Providing backup administration support for the Sales and Order Processing team.
* Providing logistics and planning support.
* Contributing and raising concerns or issues at the daily production meetings.
* Dealing with paper quality issues and credits required with and from suppliers.
* Raising intercompany purchase orders and organising interleave and paper slitting activities.
* Quality ISO and standards such as PEFC and FSC and BRC (Audits, Documents, Ops).
* Admin support to cover team onsite as required to a defined plan and time allocation weekly.
* Working with the CEO to onboard new customers and suppliers and supply business terms.
Qualifications / Experience
Essential
* Environmentally conscious and skills to consider the environmental impact and continuously work to maintain and reduce further our low carbon footprint.
* At least 3 years’ experience in environmentally conscious paper product production environment (or similar transferable experience and can learn fast).
* Understanding of stock management and query resolution.
* Understanding of material logistics and production planning.
* Ability to work with ISO Documents or any Industry standard.
* Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-moving environment.
* Proven Team person.
* Strong communication skills.
* Demonstrated Time Management skills with ability to prioritise and focus.
