Job Description Skills Alliance are partnering with a global pharmaceutical company during a period of significant change across their Global Operations Data Office. The Data Governance Manager is responsible for the effective implementation of a range of data governance activities to protect the company data assets, so that they can be used with confidence to maximize value, while legal, ethical and security aspects are safeguarded. The role specific focus will be to lead the expansion of identifying critical data entities/elements, creating standards and apply Quality management across Global Operations. Data Governance Strategy and Operations Coordinate/task manage the definition of our CDE approach, ID data owners, communicate and implement across the business functions within global Operations. Coordinate across the Data governance teams within the Data Office. Coordinate and lead the running of our Operational governance board. Work with Data Product Manager(s) and Data product Governance Manager to capture CDE demand from data products. Work with senior Data Owners and stakeholders, to maintain alignment to data quality and governance strategy. Ensure performance of data governance processes, standards, quality, and ownership across Global Operations through adequate reporting. Data Standards and Quality management Lead and coordinate the design and implementation of data standards metrics to support and monitor progress against the Data Governance Framework. Lead the definition of data standards, including master data, reference data and metadata across Global Operations. Define the approach and deliver guidelines and approaches which the business functions can use across Global Operations Collaborate and partner with SMEs and Information Architects in a proactive way, to support the development of conceptual models, business glossary and ontologies. Lead and coordinate across Global Operations: Data Asset stewardship and guidelines Manages the production of effective procedures to ensure that each data asset is governed throughout its lifetime within defined area of expertise Defines data flow requirements to ensure data flows produced across the organisation are transparent, consistent, approved, stored, and maintained. Works with Data Owners and stakeholders to maintain alignment to data quality and data governance standards, managing complex risks or issues within area of expertise. Required Experience: Significant experience and deep subject matter expertise within a relevant industry. Demonstrated knowledge of data standards, data management and IT management regulations, policies and principles, applicable to the Pharma industry. Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data Governance-related solutions. Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse, global team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures. Demonstrated project leadership skills. Demonstrate strong communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives Ability to lead and manage negotiations across a complex group, to a target outcome. Proven change management, interpersonal, assertiveness and negotiation skills. Experience of SAP and MDG Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related discipline – or equivalent number of years of experience.
