SEN Teaching Assistant
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join the resource base provision of a highly regarded Primary School in South Birmingham.
This OFSTED-rated Good school benefits from a supportive senior leadership team and is committed to nurturing positive relationships with pupils who have additional needs.
This full-time position begins in January 2025 and will run for the remainder of the academic year. The role is ideal for someone with prior experience supporting children with special needs, managing challenging behaviour, and providing personal care.
Experience in a SEN school setting or provision is highly desirable.
Role

- Position: SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 / Group Support)

- Duration: Until July 2025 (with the potential for longer-term opportunities)
- Contract Type: Temporary
- Working Pattern: Wednesdays and Thursdays (full days) and Friday mornings
- Pay Rate: From £86.40 per day (full-day rate)
- Hours: 8:20 am - 4:00 pm (full day)
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Previous experience in a UK school in a permanent or long-term role.
- Recent safeguarding training (within the last year).
Eligibility Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced child-barred list DBS certificate registered on the online update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Two professional references covering the last two years in child-related roles.
