We are excited to welcome a passionate Child Care Practitioner to join our team at Turnstone House, an inspiring dual-registered children's home and educational setting. About the Role:
Turnstone House accommodates up to 10 children with social, emotional, and mental health complexities. As a Child Care Practitioner, you will be part of a dedicated team ensuring these children have the support they need to live fulfilling lives.
Your typical duties will include:
Ensuring children are prepared for daily life and supporting them in their learning
Working closely with our onsite education team
Maintaining a warm, homely environment in the house
Planning engaging activities for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Supporting children with attending external clubs and activities
Building strong, positive relationships with the children
Role modelling life skills and social interactions
Working towards each child's individual personal development planWhat We're Looking For:
No prior experience in childcare? No problem! We're looking for individuals who are committed to improving the lives of young people and being part of a team that strives to create positive outcomes. You'll have the chance to grow and develop with us as we invest in your career.
What you will need:
A passion for working with children
A qualification in English Language or Literacy to a Level 1 standard
Full UK driving licence and your own transport (parking available on-site)
Ability to work shifts on a 37-hour week (including occasional paid sleep-ins and overtime)You will also be supported in obtaining a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, which must be completed within two years of employment.
