Position Purpose:
To fully oversee the Bio Systems operations and its associated equipment, therefore achieving maximum plant availability and productivity during each shift to the highest Health & Safety standards. Management of all aspects to ensure that the processing of clinical waste is in compliance with licence conditions and company procedures and instructions.
Key Job Activities:
1. Manage the Team Leaders and operatives on shift. Manage all training and maintain records. Manage payroll and absence in accordance with company policies and procedures.
2. Supervise and assist in the processing of Bio Systems waste within the plant.
3. Maintain compliance with site licence and other applicable legislation. Ensure adherence to BMS. Manage EA visits and audits.
4. Ensure efficient use of resources, manpower and materials within the plant and make cost savings wherever possible.
5. Ensure quality control is maintained and documented. Fulfil all reasonable requests from customers.
6. Record any service, quality, compliance or legislative shortfalls and take the appropriate action. Ensure proper recording and processing of documentation.
7. Manage and be a role model for Standard Operational Procedures and company instructions. Observe and enforce Health & Safety Regulations, other relevant legislation and safe working practices.
8. Ensure effective communications across the shifts, with site management and the wider Biosystems team.
9. Report equipment faults and defects of any nature to the site maintenance and also inform the Facility Manager. Maintain quality control checks on a regular basis. Plan and manage the shutdowns to maximise equipment efficiently throughout its lifetime.
10. Manage and control the order, collation and dispatch of stock in accordance with KPIs.
11. All other duties deemed reasonable.
Education:
Required Education: High School or equivalent.
Preferred Education: Associates or equivalent.
Experience (EMEAA):
1. Good organisation skills and attention to detail.
2. Good communicator both written and verbal.
3. Ability to work without supervision.
4. Ability to manage time and complete multi tasks in line with timescales.
5. Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic.
6. A team player and motivator, able to work effectively under pressure and who is looking for a challenge.
7. People management training would be an advantage.
8. Five or more years of supervisor experience in plant operations environment, demonstrating the ability to manage people in a manufacturing/processing environment.
9. Demonstrates the ability to provide safe and regulatory compliant work conditions for all team members.
10. Demonstrates knowledge and the ability to stay abreast of applicable regulations and codes, as they apply to the waste industry and those specific to area of responsibility.
11. Demonstrates knowledge around continuous improvement practices.
12. Demonstrates sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to input, monitor and manipulate data within these applications.
13. Demonstrates extensive experience with waste heat recovery to include waste heat boilers, heat exchangers, steam turbines/generators or similar high-speed rotating process equipment.
14. Experience in the operations and maintenance of processing facilities.
15. Management qualification and forklift training preferred.
