We are based in Theale, West Berkshire, and the successful candidate should be able to work in the office a minimum of two days per week. There will also be a requirement to visit key customers as required to film content as well as attending our events and shows throughout the year. Job Overview We are looking for an ambitious candidate to be responsible for social media and event planning within the business. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will oversee the social media plan to execute compelling content across our key platforms alongside co-ordinating our very successful launch events and trade exhibitions. We have several very exciting, high-profile projects underway for 2025 where the social media and events plan will be vital to their success; this is a unique opportunity for a social media whizz to develop their communication talents and make their mark in an innovative, purpose-led food wholesaler. Key Responsibilities Social Media : • Develop and execute multichannel social media campaigns in line with the overarching marketing plan. • Optimisation of content by platform to ensure the correct tone and placement types depending on campaign requirements. • Carrying out daily content checks across all platforms to ensure engagement with customers, suppliers and industry commentators by replying, commenting and responding to messages. • Working with the rest of the marketing team to align internal and external content, ensuring appropriate tone of voice and brand consistency. • Be responsible for understanding social platform trends and changing algorithms with a view to keeping the business up to date along with changing content needs. • Recommend paid media opportunities to drive KPIs and conversion • Monitoring and analysis of key agreed metrics, with regular feedback to the Head of Marketing and business; making recommendations to adjust the social media plan as required from these insights. Events : • Assisting the Head of Marketing by overseeing the exhibition and events plan for the business • Planning & administration of key elements including communication with customers & suppliers, sourcing and briefing of external companies & venues, budget management and design co-ordination. • Ensuring all activity is timely, well-communicated and within budget, as well as being responsible for the successful event execution. Experience & Capabilities A minimum of 1 year’s proven experience of developing and executing successful social media campaigns within a fast-paced (ideally food) environment is essential. · Event Management experience is not essential; however you must be able to demonstrate excellent administrative skills and a keen eye for detail along with being highly organised, proactive and ensure adhesion to deadlines. · Excellent working knowledge of key social media platforms, especially LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. · Competent in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, together with Canva as well as scheduling programmes such as Hootsuite. · Self-starter who wants to learn & progress in the food industry · Strong understanding of B2B and/or B2C marketing channels gained within branded or own-label businesses. · Ability to thrive in fast-paced, sales-driven environment. · Hands on, can-do attitude – Proactive, able to pick up and run with projects. · Flexible to adapt and react as necessary but highly organised with strong attention to detail. · People person, great team player, passionate and enthusiastic Interested?
