Summary
Our client based in Halstead, Colchester are looking for an experienced and dedicated Production Supervisor to join their team in a busy factory. Working closely with the Manager, the successful candidate will oversee daily operations on the factory floor. This role requires strong leadership skills, flexibility, and the ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic working environment. The ideal candidate would not be afraid to get their hands dirty and help on the machines when needed. Must have previous experience in a manufacturing environment specifically in sheet metal work.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
* Monitor production processes to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
* Ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly followed.
* Providing guidance and support to improve performance and skills.
* Encourage a positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented working environment.
* Operate a forklift as needed, ensuring the safe handling of materials.
* Will be expected to assist the team with the fabrication.
* Manage resources effectively, including materials, equipment, and labour, to maximise productivity.
* Report on production progress, identifying any issues or bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing facility, with specific experience in sheet metal work.
* Counterbalance forklift license is required, refreshers can be provided.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery, particularly in sheet metal fabrication.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
* Must be flexible with working requirements, able to adapt to changing production needs and schedules.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
