Senior Practitioner – Adults – Trafford Council

Working hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday/occasional weekend working on a rota basis

This is an exciting time to join Trafford Council as we go through our Improving Lives Everyday journey with the principles of this being part of our business as usual. As Senior Practitioner you will be seconded to work at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) (in line with the current s.75 partnership agreement) within Trafford.
You will join a multi-disciplinary team based in the South Community Mental Health Team, whilst maintaining close links with colleagues across Adult Social Care. As Senior Practitioner you will provide social work leadership to our dedicated social care staff, helping them to identify opportunities to grow and develop. You will facilitate and promote safe and high-quality care and supervise social work staff and promote the significant contribution that mental health social work makes to the delivery of mental health care.
You will work closely with service users and will have a focus on social inclusion and recovery, helping people to live as independently as possible.
You will manage a limited caseload of complex cases, provide guidance in relation to the Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act and other relevant legislation. You will contribute to service development to ensure that social work values are fully represented.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Practitioner who is passionate about delivering person-centred care for adults. Someone who is able to inspire confidence in others and has experience of working collaboratively within a multi-agency setting/approach.
You will need to understand and have knowledge of adult legal frameworks and statutory requirements.
You must have:
* A professional qualification in social work
* Social Work England registration.
* Post qualified experience.
* Enhanced DBS/Update service.
* References required for the last 5 years of employment.
