The Role You will be joining the team of experienced and enthusiastic occupational therapists to deliver to deliver bespoke rehabilitation programmes including support to help people back to work (vocational rehabilitation) This is a non:residential highly specialist community: based brain injury service with its main base in Stowmarket Suffolk operating Monday to Friday (within 45 minutes drive of Cambridge or Colchester and 20 minutes away from Ipswich or Bury St Edmunds), and a satellite service in Bungay open 2 days a week. They welcome informal enquiries/visits prior to application. To provide specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment and intervention for rehabilitation of clients, including support to return to work/study (vocational rehabilitation) following acquired brain injury (ABI). To work with carers/families as appropriate. To play an integral part in the evaluation, development and integration of evidence based practice (including relevant technology) within the OT department and wider Service. To contribute to the overall direction and development of the OT department and interdisciplinary team/service. Skills And Qualifications Professional OT qualification HCPC registration Evidence of CPD 2 years experience of working with adults including some experience working in ABI inc stroke/neurology Experience of neuro:OT assessment and treatment of clients Experience of Interdisciplinary Team working. Competent use of technology both therapeutically and administratively Basic knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised assessment and therapies/ interventions after ABI knowledge of neurology, the brain and brain injury Basic knowledge of legislation in relation to Acquired Brain Injury, including MCA and DOLs.
