Are you a creative and resilient Art Teacher with strong behaviour management skills? Do you have a passion for inspiring young people with SEMH needs in a small-group setting?
We are looking for a dedicated Art Teacher to join our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in South Quay. Working with 4-8 pupils per class, you will use the power of art and creativity to engage and support students with challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to students with SEMH needs
2. Use creative expression to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour
3. Implement effective behaviour management strategies to maintain a structured learning environment
4. Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and self-expression
5. Work closely with the wider team, including SENCOs and support staff, to develop individual learning plans
What We're Looking For:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant Art teaching experience
2. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
3. Experience working with challenging behaviour and SEMH pupils
4. A patient, creative, and adaptable approach to teaching
5. A commitment to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
