Job Purpose
We are looking for an Research and Development (R&D) Project Coordinator to join the team. The R&D department plays a crucial role in the innovation and advancement of technology within a company. Tasked with the development of new technologies, the maintenance of existing products, and the rigorous testing and qualification of materials and components, the R&D team is the driving force behind technological progress. Comprising subject matter experts across various technical disciplines, the team collaborates on projects from the initial award to successful completion, ensuring that all stakeholder requirements are met with on-time delivery (OTD). Coordination and meticulous planning of project activities are essential from inception to close-out, alongside performing general administrative duties to support both R&D and Test Services. This multifaceted approach ensures that the department not only innovates but also maintains the highest standards of quality and efficiency in its operations.
Job Description
1. Ensuring all systems and documentation and files are maintained in line with company standards
2. Support the maintenance & updating of standard technical documentation including document templates, in line with company standards
3. Conversion of documentation to new standards where required i.e., template update, project specific to generic
4. General admin duties to facilitate visitors and contractors attending site (Inductions, RAMS, scheduling coordination)
5. Obtain price, lead time and expedite procurement items to meet requirement date
6. Create purchase requisitions for all R&D projects and testing campaigns
7. Track Purchase orders and expenditure against project budgets and OPEX budgets.
8. Raising work requests for other departments to support the R&D department
9. Update and issue status reports, KPI’s, stock, milestones, operation plans etc. as agreed to meet customer requirements
10. Any other project related tasks deemed necessary to meet project objectives
11. Monitor departmental improvement plans and update progress and adherence
12. Assist in preparing yearly budget application for the R&D team
13. Assist in monitoring and forecasting R&D expenditure and engineering hours throughout the year • Tracking of Test Services & R&D Capex expenditure, forecast and year to date
14. Monitoring and updating of Test Services equipment maintenance schedule
15. To assist Test Services department in the organisation of equipment calibration
16. Coordinate logistics of test samples and equipment to ensure all transport requirements are met
17. Assist with movement of goods around base if necessary
Qualifications/Experience
18. HND/HNC and/or relevant project experience gained within the Oil and Gas/similar industry.
19. Experienced in using MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
20. Basic ability to read engineering drawings and parts lists (can be taught on the job)
