Job Description
Midlothian Justice Services is seeking two full-time, permanent Social Workers. The Justice Service is co-located with statutory partners in the Substance Use Service, Psychological Therapy Service, Intensive Home Treatment Team, Community Mental Health and the Joint Mental Health Team.
The post will be mainly office based with the opportunity to work at home on occasion with the agreement of your line manager.
You will undertake the full range of Justice Social Work duties including completion of reports for the Courts and Parole Board, supervision of those subject to statutory orders including Community Payback Orders and Statutory Licences.
There will also be opportunity to participate in group work service provision.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements:
* A qualification in Social Work and registration with the SSSC as a Social Worker is essential.
* An understanding of crime, its causes and impact on society; principles for effective practice; principles of risk management and risk assessment alongside awareness of National Outcomes and Standards for Criminal Justice Social Work Services.
* A valid full driving licence is considered essential for this post.
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults and Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults and children.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults and Children.
