We are currently partnering with a leading Housing Association based in North London, who are recruiting for a Compliance Officer to join their team on two-month temporary basis with the intention of turning permanent.
This is a full-time position with a rate of pay subject to experience, but a salary of £38,000 if turned permanent.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* To be responsible for ensuring that all properties remain compliant for the relevant compliance work stream which could include: Gas safety, Water safety, Asbestos, Electrical safety, Fire safety, Lift/LOLER
* To be responsible for the processing of invoices for the Building Services Team applicable for the compliance stream allocated to this role
* To be specifically responsible for ordering works and authorising contractor payments relevant to the allocated compliance stream for the role
* To be responsible for verification of works completed and their quality
* Oversee and or carry out a programme of post inspections (by phone or in person) to confirm identified works have been completed in line with suppliers’ contractual agreements
* Assist in budgetary control by monitoring and reporting expenditure to services suppliers
* Liaise with suppliers over future and variation costs to update forecasts and maintain accurate reporting
Experience required:
* At least three years’ experience of working in a compliance or health and safety- related service for residential buildings covering at least three or more areas of safety/compliance,
* Experience and knowledge of the current housing-related legislation of compliance work streams, e.g. fire safety, gas safety, asbestos, electrical
* Experience of contract management and performance-led activities with the compliance sector
* Experience of engaging with customers/residents
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
* Able to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) and influence
* Excellent numeracy and IT skills
* Ability to manage complex budgets
* Ability to provide clear and concise technical advice and reports
* Strong project management skills
* Strong contract management skills
* Able to plan, organise and prioritise
* An understanding of BIM
